Book Review: Coco: 10 World-Leading Masters Choose 100 Contemporary Chefs

I don’t know that I would call Coco a cookbook, per se, but it does have recipes. Coco is more like an encyclopedia into the food world of today. Basically, it takes ten iconic chefs (think Mario Batali and Alice Waters) and has them pick ten emerging chefs. The result is one hundred chefs with bios, restaurant information and recipes.

This book had me at a computer in a hotel lobby at 9:00am trying to get reservations to Ko for some friends. I wasn’t on my way to New York, but if I could help somebody get in it would have been worth it. Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough.

This book is pretty much coffee table quality. You will just want to sit and stare at it. I spent my first run through trying to plan road trips around the closest restaurants!

I was lucky enough to find this copy in the Anthropologie clearance section, but it’s not really that much more online. If you like eye candy, this book is for you!

Let me know if you’re headed to New York any time soon and need help getting in to Ko. It’s a goal of mine to get someone in there!
