FFwD: Basque Potato Tortilla

This week for our French Fridays with Dorie recipe we tried the Basque Potato Tortilla. I was a little intimidated by the title, it sounds fancy – but it was just a simple potato and onion omelet-like creation that was finished in the oven. We ate it for dinner with a spinach salad and almost everyone raved about the meal. My daughter who doesn’t care for any pepper in any thing thought it was too spicy (there’s barely a hint of spice). I thought that the dish was simple and the recipe was overly-detailed and easy to follow.  Dorie also gives lots of ideas on different ingredient combinations – I think I’ll try the mushroom tortilla next.

What is French Fridays with Dorie? An online cooking group dedicated to working our way through Dorie Greenspan’s newest book, Around My French Table. We try a new recipe each week and post about it on Fridays. If you’re interested you can pick up a copy of the book and follow along with us here.
