If you follow along on the blog at all you probably know of my affinity for peanut butter cups. And you probably also know that I am trying to eat healthier and exercise more – there are days when I’m cheating (or maybe my entire birthday weekend and the weekend before when we were traveling with friends!) But for the most part I’m trying to stick to our Eat to Live plan and there are no peanut butter cups on that plan. This recipe is my way to give into my craving without giving into Reese’s!
Jason and I have both lost quite a bit of weight and we feel a lot healthier. I also feel that the kids are eating so much better because of what foods we are keeping around the house. I thought my kids were picky eaters before but now I seem them eating all kinds of things I thought they wouldn’t eat – I think they just needed our example to follow. Now when I need an afternoon snack I grab some carrots or an apple and so they see and want that too. But before I would be breaking off a chunk of chocolate from my Pound Plus bar and of course they would all need a piece of that!
I knew that I was addicted to chocolate but I didn’t know what to do about it or even if I wanted to do anything about it. And since starting this new diet I feel like chocolate can be an occasional treat that I enjoy, but I don’t feel a need to keep it in the house or that I need it at 3:00 in the afternoon or I’m not going to make it through until my husband comes home from work!
This is my way to get a treat and feel good about what I am eating! It seems silly to even post a recipe this simple, but it is my go-to treat now and I thought it was worth sharing. Hope you like it!
