Happy Valentine’s Day!
Two straight weeks of eating at home – I think this little competition is good for me!
Sunday – Veggie Lasagna (this lasagna was time consuming. It was good, but I haven’t decided if it was worth the effort to make again. Although I will definitely use the no-cook tomato sauce again – delish!) with homemade french bread and salad.
Monday – Broccoli and Cheese Soup with Biscuits
Tuesday – Quinoa and Black Beans – so quick and easy and everyone enjoyed them.
Wednesday – Sweet and Spicy Cashew Chicken (Definitely worth the effort). Served with a Thai-inspired coleslaw on the side.
Thursday – leftovers
Friday – Homemade Pizza night
Saturday – Lentil Stew
My current point tally after two weeks is also 19.
My grocery bill last week: $350
I am a little embarrassed to share my grocery bill this week, but keep in mind that I was stocking up. I bought a couple of 50 lb bags of grains and various things that I hope will last us a while! I live on an island with no Costco or Trader Joe’s, so when I travel to the other side (about once a month) the bill tends to be high ![]()

/ February 14, 2012I felt the same way about the lasagna! In my experience all lasagnas are pretty time consuming. But, they’re a favorite with my family, so I tend to make a double batch & freeze one so that I get two meals for the effort of one.
